1) Choose a photographer whose work you love!!!

2) Make sure your personalities are a good fit. Your photographer will spend the entire day by your side.

3) There are no re-do’s for wedding photos; hire someone with experience.

4) Hire a photographer who is willing to work with your creative vision.

5) Look for someone who can handle any lighting situation. For example, if your photos will be mid-day, don’t look at their sunset photos.

6) Ask to see an entire wedding from their portfolio; this will give you a chance to review the overall quality of their work.

7) Hire someone who has a valid business license (if required) and business insurance. Due to liability issues, some vendors will only allow individuals with proper insurance coverage to work on their premises.

8) This is YOUR day, yes. BUT you want to hire someone who will also make your bridal party, family and guests feel valued.

9) Hire someone who has backup equipment and dual card slot cameras to back up the primary memory card. You don’t want lost memories because of a camera or card malfunction.

10) Expect that hiring a professional photographer will be a considerable investment. Find someone who is willing to set up payment options so that you can have the wedding photos of your dreams!
